T-OP meets Roche and the University Hospital of Basel
From 30 september to 3rd October 2024
The Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) of the European Cancer Immunotherapy Network, T-OP, gathered for their bi-annual training meeting, held in Zurich and then in Basel. The program for the first two days included a visit to Roche Glycart AG Schlieren, where students received an overview of the company’s organization. The following day, experts from the Roche Innovation Center presented cutting-edge therapeutic technologies, such as antibody engineering methods and targeted PD1 therapies. The PhD students deepened their interactions with the company’s staff over a dinner organized that evening. Wednesday’s workshop focused on recruitment skills, offering personalized CV improvement support, advice for presenting themselves on social networks, and interview practice. During the networking evening, the ESRs met with five Roche Glycart collaborators from various fields, including human resources, marketing, and research, to explore career development potentials post-PhD. On Thursday, the ESRs visited the University Hospital of Basel, gaining practical knowledge of CAR-T therapies and the hospital’s clinical pathway for such treatments.
